I miss you girls!

Hello ladies... i miss all of you!! i demand that each and every one of you update me on all your BIG news.

I know i've been MIA, for much too long, but you must understand (and know in your hearts) that it has NOT been by choice.

As some of you may remember, my office has been under construction and i've been stuck sitting in a conference room with 7 (SEVEN!!!! ) other people. And they can all see my screen - and so can everyone walking by in the hallways... kind of makes it hard to check out pop, especially now that everything on this site is so damn BIG!

Anyway, aside from the (very) upsetting sitting arrangements, I've also just been nightmarishly swamped at work. i've been getting out at around 9 or 10 pm and then fielding a non-stop stream of e-mails for the rest of the night. In fact, I'm even at work right now, in the middle of a gorgeous Sat afternoon. I'm feeling bitter. I'm feeling abused. I'm feeling.... in need of some Ben&Jerry's.... maybe i'll just run down for a second and get one..... can you blame me?

Meanwhile: Alex accepted an offer for a new job! It's so exciting, he worked very hard for it. His pay is going to literally triple, which means that we will finally be able to afford an apartment with a couch AND a bed - as two separate pieces of furniture. Isn't it amazing how little it takes to make me happy these days?

In one week we're leaving for a much needed two week vacation. We're going to Moscow, St. Petersburg, Tallin and Riga. I'm SO EXCITED!!!

SO: i hope to hear from every one of you, I hope also that you will forgive me for my absence.

Well, since it looks like a lot of you have no sense of direction either, i thought i'd share this horrible, embarrassing story about my complete lack of direction....

When alex and I were living in kansas city, our apartment was in an area called 'the plaza', which has about a 5 block radius and is basically a really cute outdoor shopping mall.

WELL, i, who have ABOSLUTELY no sense of direction, enjoyed walking around to all the shops. However, one day I guess i got so engrossed in whatever new purse or shoes i was looking at that i got completely disoriented! i walked around for 30 minutes trying to figure out which way my building is.

Finally, i got so frustrated that i sat down on a bench and called alex. i said: ALEX! i'm completely lost! i'm sitting outside of Saks, COME AND FIND ME!

He, and the friends he was with at the time will never ever let me live that one down.....

Ah, the shame, ah, the horror!

Is there something you can't do that everyone else in the world can??

so........... inspired by RCL's sudden confession that she can't swim, i thought i'd ask the rest of you girls if there's something that you don't know how to do that practically everyone else in the world does?????

i'll embarass myself here just to get started:

i don't know how to ride a bike....
I can't tell my right from left! this is so awful!!

whenever someone is telling me to turn right/left (like when i'm driving), i secretly have to make the L with my left hand to know which is which!

Have you guys heard about this AWFUL Craig's List story?

Someone posted an add on craig's list stating that a woman was giving away absolutely everything in her house for free.

Of course, people came running and stripped the house bare, taking everything down to the kitchen sink, literally!

The woman usually rents out this house so was not aware of what happened until a friend of her's happened to drive by the house and noticed that ALL THE DOORS WERE MISSING!

The police are saying that this looks like some sort of horrible revenge. Craig's list has refused to give the name of the person who posted the add until they have a warrant presented to them!
