I was at Victoria's Secret a few days ago looking for some nice bras. i don't know why i bother with it b/c i have DD's (ahhh, yes... less a blessing than one may think) and they never have anything that fits.
One of the sales people offered her help.
When i told her that unfortunately none of the bras she brought over fit, she looked at me and said
"oh, don't worry... some day you will find a man who will appreciate them"

OMG
I can't believe she said that.... biatch

1Behind every great man, there's a woman rolling her eyes
Man, I'm not really sure what I would have said to that. And I'm sure she thought it was a
compliment, but what a way to say it!
2WHAAAA? wow.
3i think she was trying to comfort me.... ! hahahaaa
4You should have told her you were more into women, and then winked at her.

at Peepshow!
6how rude! I'd like to say that I would have come back w/ a snappy retort, but more than likely I would have just stood there like
sashak - i'm not very good with 'come-backs' on the spot... HAHA...
7lol Peep! The comment was so abstract, it doesn't have anything to do with what you said. Like you said the bras didn't fit....and she responds someone will appreciate them...??!

Oh. My. God.
Okay, first. I'm a member of the DD club, and I totally agree with you - they're more of a hassle than anything.
Second, I have totally given up on VS for bras because their bras offer ZERO support. They're more just for pretty.
Third, the people working there are rude. When I was shopping for lingerie for my honeymoon, I told one girl that I wore a DD, and she was like (total valley girl voice), "Are you sure? I'm not seeing a DD on you." So I told her that I thought I was correct, but she could measure me if she wanted to. So, of course, it turns out I was right, and she was like (total valley girl voice in total disbelief and incredulity), "Wow. I never would have guessed that THOSE were DDs." To which I replied, "Then you're mistaken about exactly how big DDs are." And I left.
liza, I feel your pain in more ways than one.
9LOL peep!

:mob: Oh, add me to the club. I have never had
anyone been rude....except, last year I asked for the girl to measure me since I had gained weight and she was like....well, we only go up to 38DD, but Lane Bryant has bigger sizes. I just
looked at her and I was like....oh, I don't think so. Who wants to be told they have to have to go to Lane Bryant? Even if I knew that, I sure as hell don't want some 18 year old chick
telling me that. Anyways, I am the type of person who is big chested, no matter how small I am (which sounds like is the case for you all too) so I didn't go up, but still.
11what a fckuing b1tch!!!
I would have reported her,
or even better write an e-mail to their website, do you remember her name? this kind of horrible ppl shouldn't be working dealing with the public. Imagine what that comment would do to a
young teen who's not self confident. I just despise those randome acts of rudeness. I bet she's jealous of you!

12well, i told my bf about it and he can't get over it! he thinks it's the funniest thing he's ever heard!
13RCL - the only things i have from VS are strictly for looks, they have no support, and are very uncomfortable. .... oddly enough, i fing GAP bras to be really good support and reducers (which i often like to wear for work)
14I think she probably was just trying to be nice. But that was not the way to go about it. And VS is my least favorite store in the world!!! It's like they hire extra b*tchy women on purpose. They usually are rude and they have the tendency to stare at you like you're weird or crazy or something. I really like the stuff they sell, but I don't like their sales people.

Smoking kills. If you're killed, you've lost a very important part of your life.
Oh, I'll have to try Gap, then. Right now, all of my bras are Gillian O'Malley (or something Irish sounding) from Target because they come in DD and they're lightly shaped with padding (a MUST) and the straps are completely adjustable (rather than only being adjustable in the back). I've been really happy with them, but they're strictly utilitarian. My husband hates them. They're not lacey at all (which is a good for wearing under things like..oh, I don't know...clothes) and they're mostly full coverage. So yeah. I look like a total grandma in my undies.
Also, jennaV, what the hell? I'm convinced that the people who work in the lingerie department need better training. The truth of the matter is that DDs are really not THAT big...the general public is mistaken about exactly how big they are...my mom wears something ridiculous like an F - and those are some bodacious ta-tas.
16Wow, I've been getting my DD bras from Target as well! They're way better for my bodacious tatas than the VS bras (and cheaper)!
I had the SAME EXACT thing happen at VS, RCL. The girl asked me if she could measure me, and I said, "No, I'm a 36DD." She kept bugging me and bugging me, saying, "I don't think that's right," so I let her measure me.
Lo and behold, I was a 36DD.
17I think she just wanted to feel you up whip

18OR, what Shi said
19i think they all try to measure you b/c it is a demostration that they know how to do something.... HAHA
20ok.... my comments reversed order again...
21
Wow Liza--I'm also a part of the big boob club and I definitely feel
your pain. I had to go to a specialty bra store in high school!!! haha, well needless to say I came to love em myself, and I found a man that doesn't care what my bra size is and I really
don't need a man to justify my boobage size!!!? The niiiewwwrve of the Vic's Secret lady!
22we have a lot of chics with big titties on here lol and im one of them
23Does anyone else notice that the Vic's Secret retail workers always look the same...wearing black, REALLY dark eye make-up and most of em are like 17 or 18! I think they have a high turn-over rate!
24Wow, there are a bunch of us in the bodacious tata club!
I hate mine, though. I'd rather be flat as a board than have these freakin' melons!
25ya i completely gave up on vs, their bras end up disintegrating. i knew a girl at school who was in the process of designing a lingerie line, you mentioned vs and she would roll her eyes and say "vs is the kmart of lingerie, spend the extra money" i did and my girls have full support. fyi, nordstroms is great when it comes to fitting and helping out with delicate matters.
26TEAM FLUTTER!!!!!
i would give my TWIN PEAKS up in a minute to experiance the joy of deep cut dresses, going braless, strapless, etc! wow, that would be the good life...
27going strapless, excetera would be expecially nice! HAHAHAHHAA
28Yes, Target bras are awesome. And cheap. Awesome and cheap. note to self: Why do I not work at Target, I wonder.
and, HELLO, why do you think my wedding dress was covered up to my chin????!!!
No way on
earth was I walking down the aisle in a strapless or low-cut dress! I would have looked like a saggy prostitute. And don't tell me that strapless bustiers do the trick either, because if they
did, NO ONE would ever wear a bra with straps.
For the most part, I'm happy with mine, but I know what you mean, Whip and liza, about wanting to be able to wear other types of clothing. It's not fun to see a really great outfit in the window of a store and then find that no mattter what size top you put on, it just isn't cute on you.
29Dang, I guess my VS here is the polar opposite of every other VS in the world?
I have a D
chest, and the only bras that work for me are VS bras. For me, they offer great support and shape, but apparently it's just me they do this for
And I love all the ladies workin at VS here, they are always helpful and never bug you to death or
stare. Ya'll are making me never want to go to a VS outside of my town ever
30I LOVE Target bras! I am not a member of the big boobie club, so I can't relate. But my best friend is & she was a bridesmaid in another friends wedding. & of course the bride chose strapless dresses. Nikki's had boning sewn in & she had to wear some uber industrial (& scary looking) corsety thing.
31thong wedgie
32one of the worst things I've ever seen was when I went to interview photographers for my wedding...this one bride had about 12 bridesmaids, all about a size 0. Naturally, she had them in strapless dresses (since that's the only thing available in the world of bridal fashion).
And then there was one, poor, overweight bridesmaid...She had to be like a size 24 or something, and I felt so terrible for her. She didn't have a wrap or anything to help with the situation, and in one picture, all of the bridesmaids were facing the bride and groom, and you could see their backs. To quote my friend, this girl looked like her butt went all the way up her back.
You know what I mean? Where the dress is too tight and it smushes the two sides of your back together so that it looks like a crack between your shoulder blades? I am totally off on another tangent now, but yeah....big boobs and strapless anything is just an all around bad situation.
33Yea! a big boob club! I'm in!! I'm a 32 DD sometimes DDD so therefore get all my bras at a specialty store. I gave up on all regular stores about 10 years ago. My bras are all smooth and no lace so I can wear them with anything. I too would kill to wear strappy dresses, spaghetti straps, haltertops...mmm. I go into VS to buy their cotton panties that are 5 for $20 and an occasional lip gloss, lol. They suck, IMO. Surprisingly I was ably to wear a strapless wedding gown and it was because I didn't wear a bra and had it tailored very snug around my chest. It came out pretty nice.
Liza, I never think up snappy comebacks quick either, but maybe you could have said "Oh, at least I have more to work with than you do!"
My favorite experience in VS was when I guess they were trying to promote equality in the workplace by hiring men as salespeople and I had this huge black man come up to me and ask if I needed any help finding sizes of my panties! Uh, NO!
34You know what they say about people who make assumptions...
What a jerk!
35well, the thing is, her comment really cracked me up b/c my bf looooves my tatas and having someone tell me that it's difficult to find a man who appreciates big boobies was sorta rediculous! idiot
36RCL - one of my best friends is getting married and i'm going to be a bridesmaid... all of her other friends are very tiny (tata-less), dark skinned greeks and here i am, this white white thing... i told her ahead of time: girl: NO strapless and NO beige dresses! i feel that i have the right to make such demands b/c we were roomates for so many years! hahahaha
37oh don't you renege on your boobage Whip! If you were flat as a board you'd be looking into getting implants I bet!
On the other side... I wish I didn't have such a big butt! ughhhhh

38sloppy C's here
39I'm sorry you had a bad experience too. I was seasonal help at a VS and, after witnessing how they treated "undesirable" cutomers, walked out.
40I was at a different location with my sister. The salesgirl walked up to her and told her they didn't have anything in the store that would fit her.
Thanks for the tips on where to get better and cheaper bras.
